Journey Preparation

A journey to Peru can be a deep and transformative experience. Preparation before the journey is just as important as the experience itself.

Every participant receives detailed information before the journey. This page provides a basic overview of what is good to know in advance — preparation is just as important as the retreat itself.

Practical information

Mental and inner preparation
+

One of the most important steps is setting the intention for the journey. Many people come with various questions or life situations they wish to understand better.

There is no need to have a precise idea. What matters is to come with openness, respect and willingness to follow your own process.

Dietary preparation
+

Before working with plant medicines a certain form of dietary preparation is recommended. It is generally advised to eliminate the following in the days or weeks before the ceremony:

  • Alcohol and drugs
  • Heavy or very fatty foods
  • Excessive sugar consumption
  • Processed foods and soy products
  • Meat of large animals — especially pork

Participants will receive detailed recommendations before the journey.

Retreat preparation
+

Our retreats differ significantly from regular travel. It is recommended to bring:

  • Light and comfortable clothing for the jungle
  • Warm and hiking clothing for the Andes
  • Torch and headlamp
  • Sleeping bag

Participants will receive the exact packing list before departure.

Working with medicines
+

Ceremonies with medicines take place under the guidance of experienced healers. Every participant can decide to what extent they wish to take part in the process. Time for integration and rest is also an important part.

Master Plant Diet — special preparation
+

If participating in a diet with teacher plants, preparation is even more important. The diet includes simple food, silence, time in nature and ceremonial work with medicines.

It is recommended to gradually reduce heavy foods, alcohol, processed foods and sexual activity so that the body cleanses and becomes more receptive. Inner preparation is equally important — slowing down, becoming aware of intention and opening yourself to the process that is coming.

Respect for tradition

Working with plant medicines is part of traditional cultural practices in Peru. These processes are carried out with respect for local traditions and under the guidance of experienced maestros.

Our intention is to create a safe, conscious and respectful space for every participant.

Working with plant medicines is not a substitute for medical care. Before participating it is important to disclose your health condition.
